Based in the early and mid 60's in Harlem New York during the Heroine era, Bumpy Johnson returns to the streets after a 10 yr stint in Alcatraz. Bumpy Johnson finds himself in a new world where he once ruled and now has to face new and old foes. The surprise of Johnson's life was his relationship with Malcolm X. Bumpy knew the great leader when he was the street hustler known as Red. When Bumpy returns he's surprised to find Red now Malcolm X the face of the Nation of Islam. God Father of Harlem shows how powerful Bumpy Johnson was and his influence in Harlem and his impact in African American culture.
